SCIENTIFIC WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS AND FINANCE

The subject of scientific work of the department is "Financial, economic and management mechanisms for regulating the development of the national economy in the context of globalisation" (state registration number 018U001562) from 25.06.2018. Within the framework of a complex scientific topic, the lecturers of the department have published more than 120 works and more than 40 scientific articles and competitive works of students in domestic and foreign scientific publications.

The department constantly participates in scientific-theoretical, scientific-practical conferences on the implementation of economic reforms in Ukraine, the development of the banking system, fiscal and monetary policy, the creation of a favorable investment climate, the transformation of property relations. In 2019, the Department became a co-organizer of the IV International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference "Actual Problems of Management of Socio-Economic Systems" (December 6, 2019, Lutsk).

In 2020, the Department, together with the Department of Management and the Faculty of Geography, organised and held an all-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference on "Current issues and prospects for regional development" (April 3, 2020).

The department actively involves students in scientific work of the specialities "Finance, Banking and Insurance", "Management", "Economics". The department has student research problem groups, the participants of which work on current issues of reforming the economy of Ukraine, actively speak at representative conferences in Ukraine and abroad.

The main directions of scientific research of teachers of the Department of Economics and Finance:

At the appropriate level, lecturers of the department carry out research work with students, the results of which are covered at meetings of the scientific problem student seminar of the Department of Finance, meetings of the scientific circle, interuniversity student conferences and other events.

The scientific problem student seminar of the Department of Economics and Finance started its work in the beginning of 2009, the main purpose of which is to gain students' research skills, increase the level of professional training of future specialists in the field of financial activities of business and financial management.

Since 2010, the Faculty of Economics on the basis of the Department of Economics and Finance operates a scientific group "Economist-Researcher" for students of all courses. The Department of Economics and Finance encourages students to research, recommends the best reports of students at scientific conferences, sets additional scores on exams, defense of master's theses, provides recommendations for admission to graduate school.

In 2019, the department hosted the defence of the PhD dissertation of Yakovchuk A.M. on the topic "Change Management as a tool to ensure the strategic sustainability of machine-building enterprises" in the specialty 08.00.04. - Economics and enterprise management (supervisor, Doctor of Sceinces, Prof. M.H. Belopolskyi). In December 2019, the results of dissertation research of Onofriichuk O.P. and Karpa I.S. were presented at the department (protocol № dated 23.12.2019).
