Students and staff of the Faculty of Law have successfully passed the qualifying exam for the program “Lawyer’s Self-Defense”.

On Saturday, June 5, 2021, a qualifying exam was held on the basis of the "Kordon" Sports Club in connection with the completion of the Lawyer's Self-Defense program.

This program was developed by the Faculty of Law of the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of the Economic and Humanities and the sports club "Kordon", included practical and online classes of 38 hours and operated from February to May 2021.

The purpose of the program was to ensure the psychological and physical readiness of students to perform the tasks of the future profession by harmoniously combining advanced forms of physical training, personal safety, use of force, improvement and constant increase of physical activity in the system of mass sports; formation of skills necessary for the attack, disabling or detaining the attacker, self-defense against his attack; formation of the possibility of fast and qualified medical care for the victim and the attacker, after causing harm to his health.

The qualifying exam included 5 stages.

Practicing the hit on a punching bag was the first test that everyone coped with perfectly.

The second stage was the correct application of a rubber club to the offender in order to detain him.

At the third stage, the instructors tested the knowledge of the participants when detaining offenders with the use of firearms.

Wearing special BR-2 "handcuffs" in the following positions: lying, sitting and standing on the offender was the next test.

The fifth stage of testing the knowledge of students was the use of the latest techniques of hand-to-hand combat when attacking them with a knife and escorting offenders.

It should be noted that only 10 out of 36 people who started classes in the program "Lawyer's Self-Defense" were admitted to the qualifying exam.

At the end of the exam, everyone received a certificate.
