Students from the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities have successfully passed the competitive selection process and secured the opportunity to take part in an academic mobility programme in Toruń (Poland).

The programme participants are Yuliia Matviienko, a second-year student on the Faculty of Education specialising in ‘Psychology’; Dariia Matviienko, a second-year student; and Nadiia Baruk, a fourth-year student on the Faculty of History and Philology specialising in ‘Secondary Education (Language and Literature (English)’’.

The mobility programme involves familiarising participants with the experience of Polish higher education institutions, their educational opportunities and approaches to the professional training of young people. At Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the IUEH students were involved in the educational process, learnt about the university’s academic opportunities and the specific features of studying at a Polish higher education institution.

An important component of the programme was learning about Polish practices for creating a safe and comfortable learning environment for children and young people. During a training session with Kamila Raniuszewska, a representative responsible for coordinating activities within the framework of UNICEF’s ‘Child-Friendly City’ initiative, the participants learnt practical approaches to implementing this initiative.

The academic mobility programme offers IUEH students opportunities for professional development, learning from international experience and developing intercultural competence. The knowledge and practical experience gained will be an important resource for their future educational and professional endeavours.
The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland as part of the ‘Polonia i Polacy za Granicą 2026’ competition.
