As part of the international RITA programme, another qualifying tournament for adaptive games was held on 10 October 2026 at the Polish-Ukrainian Adaptation Centre at IUEH for the centre’s visitors.
Representatives from Rivne, the Rivne district and Zdolbuniv took part in the tournament. Among the participants were children receiving an education in an inclusive learning environment, as well as internally displaced persons. For each of them, the competition provided an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, test their skills, experience the joy of interaction and enjoy positive emotions.
The tournament demonstrated positive progress in improving the psychophysical development and social adaptation of the Adaptation Centre’s visitors. The competition left a lasting impression of joy and excitement not only among the participants but also amongst the organisers and student volunteers from the Department of Human Health and Physiotherapy.
The tournament’s special atmosphere was created by genuine smiles, sporting enthusiasm, mutual support and the joy of the results achieved. The following were involved in organising and running the event: project coordinator Ihor Petruk, the International and Project Department, academic and teaching staff, and student volunteers from the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sport, who assisted the participants and supported them throughout the competition. Such experience is an important component of the practical training of future specialists in the fields of physiotherapy, rehabilitation and inclusive support.
The participants competed in seven adaptive games, the results of which determined the winners and prize-winners. Organising such events is an important part of the activities of the Polish-Ukrainian Adaptation Centre at IUEH. Regular sessions involving adaptive games help to develop motor skills, coordination, concentration and independence, whilst creating opportunities for social interaction and active participation in community life.
Following the conclusion of the competitions, the results were announced and the participants were presented with their awards. Sweet treats provided a pleasant end to a day spent together, filled with positive emotions and new achievements.
