As part of the international project ‘Polish-Ukrainian Regional Adaptation Centres – Vol. 3’, a working visit was made by partners from the Western Ukrainian National University (Ternopil) to the Polish-Ukrainian Adaptation Centre, which operates at the IUEH in Rivne. The delegation included project coordinator Roman Gakh, as well as lecturers and students from the ‘Physical Education and Sport’ programme.

As part of the international RITA programme, lecturers from the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sport acted as mentors, presenting the centre’s experience and conducting a series of practical and theoretical sessions. In particular, an off-site session was organised for people with disabilities using modern rehabilitation equipment at the Oleksandrov Rehabilitation Clinic in Rivne. The event was attended by the programme coordinator, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Human Health and Physical Therapy Ihor Petruk, Head of the Department Olena Sirman, and student volunteers from the centre.

The packed programme for the delegation from Ternopil not only facilitated the exchange of experiences but also outlined prospects for expanding the network of adaptation centres in Ukraine and improving the quality of the educational process in higher education institutions.

It should be noted that the project is co-financed by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation as part of the RITA programme – ‘Changes in the Region’, which is implemented by Fundacja Edukacja dla Demokracji in collaboration with its main partner, the AZS WSG association (Bydgoszcz, Poland).
