On 21 May, IUEH hosted an informative workshop to mark Europe Day on the theme ‘Discover Europe: a journey through cultures’. The event brought together students and young people interested in European values, international cooperation and the cultural diversity of European Union countries.
The speaker at the event was Alina Kruhliak, Head of the International and Project Department at IUEH. During the workshop, she introduced participants to the history of the European Union’s creation, the key stages of its development and its current operating principles. Particular attention was paid to the process of Ukraine’s European integration and the prospects for our country’s accession to the EU. Participants also learnt interesting facts about the countries of the European Union, their culture, traditions and distinctive features, which helped to create the atmosphere of a real journey through Europe.

Special guests at the event were representatives of the youth organisation AIESEC, who shared their own international experience and spoke about opportunities for short-term volunteer placements abroad for students. Representatives of the organisation provided participants with detailed information about international programmes that enable young people to take part in social, educational and cultural projects in various countries around the world.
