As part of the international conference “Current Issues and Prospects for Regional Development” (March 17, 2026), representatives from United Kingdom and Poland actively participated, highlighting the strong interest of international partners in advancing regional initiatives.
During the event, participants discussed key issues of economic recovery, infrastructure development, and opportunities for attracting investment into local communities.
The conference organizing committee included scholars from three partner universities: Professor of English Literature Ian Gadd and Senior Lecturer at the Business School Nasir Salari (Bath Spa University, United Kingdom); Professor, Dr. Jerzy Babiak, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Artur Kisiołek (Wielkopolska Academy of Social and Economic Sciences in Środa Wielkopolska – University of Applied Sciences, Poland); as well as Professor, Dr. Alekxandr Skaliy, Director of the Institute of Sport and Physical Culture (University of Economics in Bydgoszcz).

“Today’s world faces numerous serious challenges — wars and armed conflicts, humanitarian crises, economic instability, and social tensions. In such times, the role of universities and the academic community becomes especially important.”
Artur Kisiołek

“I would also like to emphasize the value of our cooperation with MEGU. Academic partnerships are important not only because they foster joint research and educational opportunities, but also because they build mutual understanding, solidarity, and a shared purpose among countries.”
Nasir Salari
The conference organizers noted that such events contribute to establishing dialogue between local authorities, business representatives, and international experts, while also opening new opportunities for the sustainable development of the region.
