History of the Department

The Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature was established in September 2015. It is headed by Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor Nazarets Vitalii Mykolaiovych.

The teaching of philological disciplines at the department is provided by qualified lecturers who have basic philological education and experience of pedagogical work from 5 to 35 years.

There are 8 full-time lecturers at the department.

Nazarets Vitalii Mykolaiovych is Doctor of Science in Philology in the speciality 10.01.06 - Theory of Literature, Head of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities. He defended his PhD thesis on "Subtext as a Meaning Phenomenon and Artistic Phenomenon" in 1994 at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2000, Nazarets V.M. was awarded with the academic title of Associate Professor by the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine. He defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Addressed lyrics as meta-genre: typology and poetics" at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in 2015.

He has been working at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities since 2003 as an Associate Professor, Professor, and Head of the Department of Ukrainian Literature.

Nazarets V.M. developed programs, conducts lectures and practical courses in the disciplines "Literary Theory", "Introduction to Literary Studies", "History of Foreign Literature".

He constantly pays attention to the methodological support of the educational process, is the author and co-author of: 3 textbooks with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science (for higher and secondary school):

Systematically directs the students' scientific works and dissertation studies of candidates for philological degree.

Myroniuk Valentyna Mykhailivna is PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities.

Graduated from Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, qualifying as a philologist, teacher of Ukrainian language and literature.

In 2008 she defended her PhD thesis on "The poetics of Mark Cheremshyna's prose" at the T. Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

She has been working at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities since 2003 as a lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associated Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Literature. She teaches disciplines: Introduction to Literary Studies, Theory of Literature, History of Ukrainian Literary Studies, History of Ukrainian Literature.

Actively engaged in scientific activities. Author of many articles. Supervises scientific (course, bachelor's, master's) works of students.

Sakisova Ivanna Adamivna is PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities.

Graduated from Rivne State Humanities University, qualifying as a philologist, teacher of Ukrainian language and literature.

In 2013, she defended her PhD thesis on "Autobiographical image in the epistolary of Spyrydon Cherkasenko" at the Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatyuk National Pedagogical University.

She has been working at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities since 2007 as a part-time methodologist, teacher, Senior Lecturer, Associated Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Literature. Teaches subjects: "History of Ukrainian Literature", "History of Foreign Literature", "Expressive Reading", "Oratorical Art".

Actively engaged in scientific activities. Author of many articles. Supervises scientific (course, bachelor's, master's) works of students.

Medynska Nataliia Mykolaivna is Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities.

In 1993 she graduated from the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, in the specialty “Russian language and literature”, and in 2010 from the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities and received a qualification as a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature, philologist.

In 2001, at the Specialised Academic Council of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, she defended her PhD thesis on "Structure of the semantic field of multiple-distributive action verbs" and received a PhD in Philology, specialty 10.02.01 - Ukrainian language.

In 2008, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine, Medynska N.M. was awarded with the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Teaching Methods.

Professor Medynska N.M. is working on her doctoral thesis "Semantic-grammatical differentiation of characteristic words". She is the author of more than 85 scientific and methodological publications, among them: monograph "Characteristic words in the Ukrainian language: semantic and grammatical differentiation", 3 textbooks of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 13 articles in foreign editions, professional articles and theses.

Range of scientific interests of Medynska N.M. - linguistic grammatical categories, functional grammar, Slavic aspectology. She has actively participated in international scientific conferences in Italy (University of Padua), Belarus (Baranavichy State University), Sweden (University of Gothenburg), Moscow (Lomonosov Moscow State University). She is a participant in the annual conferences of the Commission on Aspectology of the International Committee of Slavists.

Medynska N.M. acts as an official opponent in defense of dissertation works at the Institute of Ukrainian Language of NAS of Ukraine,National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University, reviews the textbooks and dissertations for the candidate's degrees.

Medynska N.M. is a member of the specialized scientific council K 26.053.25 in the specialty 10.02.01 - Ukrainian language in defense of PhD theses at the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University; Member of the Scientific and Methodological Commission on Subject Education and Sports, Sub-Commission 014-1 Secondary Education (Languages and Literature), Higher Education Sector of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; the chairman of the jury of the second stage of the All-Ukrainian competition-protection of research works of the students-members of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, department of "Philology", section "Ukrainian language".

For her considerable scientific and professional achievements Medynska N.M. was awarded with the Certificates of Honor of the Rivne Regional State Administration, Acknowledgment of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, Honorary Certificates and the Prize of IUEH of the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities.

Hruba Tamila Leonidivna is Doctor of Science in Pedagogical, Associated Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature, Dean of the History and Philology Department at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities.

After graduating from the Rivne Pedagogical Institute, Hruba T.L. worked as a teacher of the Ukrainian language in the Secondary School № 2 in Rivne, and after defending her PhD in the specialty 13.00.02. Theory and Methods of Teaching the Ukrainian Language (1998) - Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities. Since 2003 - appointed on the position Head of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Methods of Teaching IUEH. Since 2008 Hruba T.L. - Dean of the Faculty of History and Philology, combines organizational, educational and scientific work. Hruba T.L. has written more than 60 scientific works, which have been published in the leading professional scientific collections of our country and abroad. Associate Professor Hruba T.L. prepared the author's educational program from the Ukrainian language school course for philological faculties, recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a textbook “Methods of enriching the speech of middle-class students with synonyms and synonyms forms.” (2000), “Forming students' spelling competence” (2016).

In 2005, Hruba T.L. was awarded with the rank of Associate Professor.

Assoc. Prof. Hruba T.L. participated at the 13th International Conferences of Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Working as the Head of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Teaching Methods, she initiated the All-Ukrainian scientific and methodological seminars: "Modernization of the content, forms and methods of school language education" (April 30, 2002), "An integrated approach to work on the word in school language and literature education "(May 26, 2004), scientific - practical conference" Problems of formation of linguistic personality of students of secondary schools "(April 19, 2006). Under the general editorship of Hruba T.L., two collections of scientific works of leading scientists of Ukraine have been published. Assoc. Prof. Hruba T.L. works on the topic of a doctoral dissertation "Theoretical and methodological foundations of forming the linguistic personality of the students of the profile school".

Hruba T.L. directs the Ukrainian language scientific group of the Rivne Territorial Branch of the Small Academy of Sciences, the Department of Philology and Art Studies, the section "Ukrainian Language", a member of the jury and an expert on language (2017) of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Ukrainian; member of the editorial board of the Ukrainian language newspaper for teachers “Ukrainian Language and Literature”, member of the Association of Teachers and Teachers of Ukrainian Language and Literature of Ukraine.

Hruba T.L. was awarded with an honorary award of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (2005), a award of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (2013), honorary award of the Regional Department of Education and Science of the Rivne Regional Administration (2007, 2008, 2010) for the preparation of prize-winners of the Petro  Yatsyk International Competition of Ukrainian Language Experts.

In 2019 defended her doctoral dissertation in the speciality 13.00.02 (Theory and methodology of teaching the Ukrainian language) "Methods of formation of the linguistic personality of high school students at the lessons of the Ukrainian language"

Ovdiichuk Liliia Mykolaivna is PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities.

She graduated from Dnipro State University with a degree in "Ukrainian Language and Literature" and obtained a qualification "Philologist. Teacher of Ukrainian language and literature.

She worked as a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature at the school №10 in Rivne. Winner of the All-Ukrainian Contest “Teacher of the Year 2000” (Chernihiv) in the nomination “Ukrainian Language and Literature”. Has the title of "Methodist Teacher".

In 2005, on the basis of her own teaching experience, she defended her dissertation on the topic: "Formation of aesthetic feelings of high school students on the basis of interaction of arts in the process of studying literature" in the specialty "Teaching theory and methodology (Ukrainian literature)" 13.00.02 in the specialized academic council K 26.452.02 at the Institute of Pedagogy of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.

She has been a Senior Lecturer, Associated Professor of the Department of Language and Literature at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities since 2002.

She has developed programs, conducts lectures and practical courses in the disciplines "Children's Literature", "Folklore", "Methods of teaching Ukrainian literature". "Methods of teaching foreign literature". "Modern Foreign Literature with Methods of Teaching", "Language Culture", "Stylistics of the Ukrainian Language", "Linguistic Analysis of Text", "Methods of Teaching Literature in Institutions of Higher Education".

Ovdiichuk L.M. - Member of the Board of the City Public Association of the “Prosvita” Society; member of the Board of the Center for the Study of Literature for Children and Youth, member of the Scientific Society of Taras Shevchenko. She takes an active part in the public life of the city.

She was awarded with: “For locality to Kobzar's testament” medal, “100 Years of ”Prosvita”” medal.

Systematically directs the scientific work of students, scientific supervisor and opponent of dissertation research on the method of teaching literature to obtain PhD in Pedagogy.

Shkabarina Marharyta Andriivna is PhD in Pedagogy, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities.

She graduated from the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities in 2015 with a qualification as a philologist, teacher of Ukrainian language and literature, teacher of foreign literature and English.

In 2018, she defended her PhD thesis on "Development of pedagogical creativity of future primary school teachers in the process of studying professional disciplines" at the Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.

She has been working at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities since 2017 as a lecturer, Senior Llecturer at the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature. Teaches subjects: "Ukrainian language of science, analytical sphere of communication", "Workshop (Practicum) on Ukrainian language", "Introduction to linguistics".

She is actively involved in scientific activities, is the author of many articles and researches, and manages scientific (course, bachelor's, master's) works of students.
