Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities together with Bath Spa University (UK) and two Ukrainian universities have received a new grant to implement a joint research project ‘Assessing the impact of the Russian invasion on Ukraine's cultural heritage and creative industries’.
The project is led by Bath Spa University and is being implemented within the strategic guidelines of the Horizon Europe Programme, which focuses on research in the fields of culture, creative industries and social cohesion. The project aims to assess the material and economic impact of Russian aggression on Ukraine's cultural heritage and creative industries.
In collaboration with researchers from three Ukrainian universities: Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities (IUEH), Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (CNU), and Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), three case studies will be prepared. Throughout the project, researchers will meet online to prepare desk studies, which will form the basis for further discussions during a two-day research seminar in Warsaw.

Alina Kruhliak, Head of the International and Project Department of IUEH, became the project coordinator from the Ukrainian partnership. The team of executors included Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Quality of Education Viktoriia Artiushok and Head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology Iryna Budz.
It is worth noting that the teachers of the Faculty of History, Geography and Tourism of IUEH Volodymyr Starzhets and Vitalii Levytskyi actively joined the implementation of the international research project. Thanks to their professional expertise, scholars play an important role in researching the consequences of armed aggression for Ukraine's cultural heritage.
This partnership opens up new horizons for Ukrainian researchers and will strengthen the role of IUEH as an active participant in the European scientific space.
