The Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies (GCUS) organised a large-scale academic and cultural week that brought together more than 30 universities from Belfast to London. From 3 to 14 November, Britain opened up Ukraine as a space of freedom, science and culture. This is a joint initiative implemented in partnership with Cormack Consultancy Group, Twinning Ukraine, the President of Ukraine's Foundation for the Support of Education, Science and Sport, and other partners. Events took place in four countries of the United Kingdom — Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.
The aim of the project was to strengthen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom in the field of education, science and culture, as well as to enhance Ukraine's presence in the global academic space. Bath Spa University (Great Britain), together with its twin-university, Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities also joined the initiative and held a series of events.
In particular:
1. The cultural partner of Bath Spa University, the Royal Bath Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI), held an event dedicated to the release of a book by BSU graduate Claire Bramwell-Pearson Vitaliy Petrenko and the Mystery of the Roman Baths, a magical adventure linking Bath and the city of Alexandria in Ukraine, with illustrations by Ukrainian author and illustrator Oleksandra Dikai. 2. IUEH students developed a series of creative posters, each dedicated to a separate aspect of Ukrainian culture, which were published online in the form of an exhibition for the BSU community and other interested parties.

3. The BSU team invited lecturers from the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, Associate Professor I. Budz and Professor O. Melnychuk, to join the reading club, where they will read Andriy Kurkov's novel ‘Grey Bees’ (2021).

4. BSU held an online screening of the documentary film Mariupol: Chronicles of Hell (2022) with the participation of Associate Professor Andrii Smus, a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism of IUEH.
5. The Ukrainian Society at BSU celebrated Ukrainian Culture Night at the Student Council, where a DJ from Ukraine introduced British students to Ukrainian music, a themed photo zone was organised, and visitors had the opportunity to try on traditional Ukrainian clothing.


6. A special feature of Ukrainian Week was a special Ukrainian menu served on 4 and 7 November in the Bath Spa University canteen.Ukrainian Culture Week 2025 in the United Kingdom, part of the Twinning programme, was an important step in strengthening cultural ties between Ukraine and British communities. All events showcased the richness of Ukrainian traditions, contemporary art and creative industries, promoted a deeper understanding of Ukrainian identity and supported the British audience's interest in Ukraine at a time of struggle and transformation.
