Traditionally, IUEH scientists joined a series of scientific lunch seminars organized by the School of Education at Bath Spa University (UK).Researchers from the Faculty of History and Philology Iryna Budz, Diana Kochmar, Alina Kruhliak, and from the Faculty of Economics Viktoriia Artiushok joined a lively discussion on whether artificial intelligence is capable of truly understanding language or only imitates its use based on algorithms and statistics. The limits of machine “understanding” and how to distinguish true comprehension from computational reproduction were discussed.
